چکیده
Introduction: Craniosynostosis are cranial deformities resulting from the early closure of one or more sutures. Concomitant facial changes usually result involvement multiple sutures, which may lead to restriction growth and brain expansion, ocular compression, breathing difficulties. The distraction osteogenesis (DO)for frontofacial posterior advancement have increased safety procedure. aim this study was a critical evaluation use DO in surgical treatment syndromic craniosynostoses, based on experience single craniofacial team.
Methods: Retrospective review third six patients operated 2003 2022 by same Results: 19 boys 17 girls were operated, all with rigid distractors. Twenty-nine them underwent monobloc advancement. In seven patient Le-Fort III/subcranial performed. A performed 5. 11 fronto-orbital done first year life. mean age 6.0 years (range, 6 months 13 years). All presented some degree exorbitism, upper airway obstruction signs intracranial hypertension. Cerebrospinal fluid leakage most frequent complication (9 cases), pterygomaxillary disjunction revised 8, lateral rim orbital fracture 3 cases, related device.
Conclusions: evolution techniques allowed distractors be an important tool for treating issues craniosynostoses. multidisciplinary team's learning curve is reducing complications associated osteogenic distraction.

Results: 64 children with syndromic craniosynostosis presented during the study period. 40 met inclusion criteria with complete medical records and care continuity since birth: 22 prior to and 18 after implementation of PVDO (Table 1). Patients with computed tomographic studies before and after PVDO demonstrate significant reduction in frontal bossing (FNS angle decreased 125.4 to 118.8, p = 0....
متن کاملUse of Multidirectional Cranial Distraction Osteogenesis for Cranial Expansion in Syndromic Craniosynostosis
1 Patients with syndromic craniosynostosis display considerable impairment of skull growth and often require cranial expansion to prevent the development of intracranial hypertension within the first year of life. However, the best approach for cranial expansion in this setting remains controversial. Although fronto-orbital advancement (FOA) was a typical option,1 this procedure is plagued by h...

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to confirm the utility of a corrected cephalometric analysis to facilitate the planning of distraction osteogenesis with Le Fort III osteotomy for syndromic craniosynostosis. METHODS This prospective study involved 4 male and 2 female patients (mean patient age, 8 years 9 months; age range, 4 years 6 months to 13 years 2 months) with Crouzon syndrome w...
متن کاملA Osteogenesis Distraction Device Enabling Control of Vertical Direction for Syndromic Craniosynostosis
BACKGROUND We have developed a hybrid facial osteogenesis distraction system that combines the advantages of external and internal distraction devices to enable control of both the distraction distance and vector. However, when the advanced maxilla has excessive clockwise rotation and shifts more downward vertically than planned, it might be impossible to pull it up to correct it. We invented d...

INTRODUCTION: Mandibular micrognathia is the primary defining characteristic of Pierre Robin Sequence (PRS) that sets off a physiologic cascade with varying severity of airway obstruction.1 The diagnosis of micrognathia is predominantly clinical, though with the advent of three-dimensional computed tomography (3D-CT), the development of objective and accurate measurements of skeletal morphology...
